Campaign Story

My name is Alexys and my fiancé is Josiah. My fiancé has a rare genetic mutation called FAP. FAP is a mutation in the ACP gene that causes polyps to grow on your large intestine and can eventually spread to other places in the body. This past year my fiancé had a major surgery to have his large intestine removed and has been in recovery for about a year now with other complications and procedures he has undergone. This gene was passed down to our two year old daughter. If you don’t have the surgery, you will end up developing colon cancer and won’t live past 30 years old. Because our daughter has this, I will not put another child through that so this fundraiser is for genetic testing and IVF so we can have a healthy baby that won’t have to go through what their daddy went through.
